Using Social Media for Research Uptake & Policy Advocacy

This webinar is intended to share practical strategies to disseminate information using specifically Twitter because it is our preferred medium for social media dissemination.

According to the new 2018 Global Digital suite of reports from We Are Social and Hootsuite, there are now over 4 billion people around the world using the internet. The number keeps growing and shows no signs of decline. Even people who live in limited-resource settings are getting online more than ever and accessing information on social media. Active social media users around the world stand at 3.192billion people, signalling a 42% penetration; whilst active mobile social media users are not far behind at 2.958 billion, a 39% penetration according to the digital report.

Social media is exponentially more relevant with each passing year, and it should be noted that its relevance has turned into influence. Twitter is a medium which offers endless possibilities with the many in-built tools used to amplify content quickly and simply. This explains why COUNTDOWN uses Twitter heavily for disseminating its research widely.

In this webinar hosted by our FHI360 partners, you will learn the difference of words used when referring to Twitter such as 'engagement' and 'mentions', including how you can use analytics to adapt your strategy and content.
