Ifeoma Anagbogu

Since August 2017, Ifeoma Anagbogu serves as Federal Permanent Secretary of Women’s Affairs. Before that, she led one of the most complex and challenging NTD control and elimination programs in Nigeria, in her position as Director of NTD Control Programme at the Federal Ministry of Health & National Coordinator for Guinea Worm Eradication in Nigeria.  Her dedication and personal commitment helped earn Nigeria a certification by WHO as a Guinea Worm disease-free country. Ifeoma has been working on NTDs since 1984 and has worked on numerous campaigns to create awareness on NTDs especially in IDP camps.

She has been instrumental in mapping NTDs across the length and breadth of Nigeria; and introduced several innovations in programme management to raise the NTD programme to even higher heights, contributing to improved programme reach and coverage. She is a strong advocate and promoter of integrated and multi-sectoral approaches for the implementation of NTD interventions in Nigeria.
