Dr Marfo is a medical doctor and has extensive experience on working on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), malaria, HIV, tuberculosis and maternal & newborn health. Since 2012, he has worked as deputy programme manager for NTDs at Ghana Health Service overseeing control of onchocerciasis, lymphatic filiariasis, schistosomiasis, soil-transmitted helminthiasis and trachoma.
Previously, he worked as a county director of health services coordinating activities around epidemiology, advocacy, reproductive & child helath, including data analysis. Dr Marfo was regional cooridnator for the USAID-funded FOCUS region programme.
He is currently the Ghana country director for the COUNTDOWN programme.
