From 20th to 24th November, the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) conference was held in Maryland, USA. Rachael Thomson chaired the symposium, Margaret Gyapong and Kim Ozano presented the symposium ‘Gender Dimensions in the Prevention and Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases’ on behalf of Countdown in association with UNDP.
The session highlighted the 5 key recommendations from this discussion paper from The Access and Delivery Partnership (ADP) which was authored by Kim Ozano, Laura Dean, Eleanor MacPherson and Sally Theobald from COUNTDOWN, amongst others, and the paper has since been widely circulated online by ADP and their networks. It has also been mentioned in an Editorial from The Lancet. This discussion paper was the basis of the ADP World NTD Day Global webinar held on 30th January.
