The Health Systems Research symposium which happens every two years is a conference organised by the Health Systems Global, a membership organisation dedicated to promoting health systems research and knowledge translation.
COUNTDOWN will participate in the upcoming #HSR2018 with poster presentations and on various panels through oral presentations relating to community health workers, disability and chronic disease.

Dr Theobald Nji will take part in a panel discussion looking at community engagement and present the Buea social science work on 'Responsive health systems for community-based health initiatives: A case study tackling onchocerciasis in Cameroon.'
Session:Multisectoral action for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dr Akinola Stephen Oluwole will give a presentation on 'Revitalising multi-sectoral approaches for the delivery of health interventions: Bridging the gap between the health and education sectors'.

Dr Oluwatosin Adekeye and Ms Laura Dean from LSTM will participate in a panel on 'Improving health systems responses to chronic disease and disability: addressing medical and psycho-social needs in essential service delivery?'. Dr Adekeye will present on 'Building partnerships between eye health and mental health in managing Glaucoma in northern Nigeria' whilst Ms Dean will look at 'Promoting holistic health service provision to address the needs of people affected by chronic disease and disability in Liberia'.
