Bright Kwesi Idun

Bright Kwesi Idun is a Senior Technical Officer at the Council for Scientific & Industrial Research – Water Research Institute (CSIR-WRI), Ghana where he is currently stationed with the biomedical (BPHRU). In this role Bright performs a variety of laboratory tests using standard SOPs to assist research scientist in monitoring, treating, preventing, controlling and if possible try to eliminate certain diseases.

He is a professional laboratory technical officer with a higher national diploma and a certificate in science laboratory technology from Accra Technical University and currently pursuing a BSc in clinical laboratory science. Bright Kwesi Idun is no stranger to biomedical research, having spent over 15 years in various hospital laboratories and biomedical research laboratories.

Before joining CSIR-WRI, Bright worked with various medical institutions such as 37 military hospitals, Afia Nkwanta regional hospital, Tema general hospital, Noguchi memorial institute for medical research, midway clinic, Catholic mothers’ association among others. Passionate about medical research and its possibilities; Bright draws on his over fifteen years’ experience, to provide technical services to the biomedical unit of CSIR-WRI in both laboratory and field works on the various ongoing projects in onchocerciasis, Schistosomiasis, Soil-transmitted helminthiasis and lymphatic filariasis.
